Golden Fried Prawns
Golden Fried Prawns. Served Crisp, juicy & full of flavours.
300-400g medium or large prawns (peeled, deveined, tails on)
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
½ tsp white pepper powder (or black pepper)
Salt to taste
1 tsp lemon juice
✅ For the batter:
3 tbsp all-purpose flour (maida)
2 tbsp cornflour
1 egg (lightly beaten)
A pinch of baking powder (optional, makes it lighter)
Cold water as needed to make a thick batter
✅ For frying:
Oil for deep frying
1️⃣ Marinate prawns
In a bowl, mix prawns with ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, salt & pepper.
Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
2️⃣ Prepare batter
In another bowl, mix all-purpose flour, cornflour, baking powder & a pinch of salt.
Add beaten egg & slowly whisk in cold water to form a thick, smooth batter.
3️⃣ Dip & fry
Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai.
Dip each prawn into the batter, coating it well.
Fry in hot oil (medium-high heat) until golden & crisp (about 2-3 mins).
Drain on paper towels.
4️⃣ Serve hot
With a sprinkle of chaat masala or sea salt.
Best with chilli garlic sauce or tartar dip.
